Historical Background
Vedeno Fortress stands in the village of the same name. It was built by Russian troops in the 19th century during the Caucasian War and served as an important defensive structure in the region. Unfortunately, only the walls of the original structure have survived, although the fortress once even had a roof. Interestingly, the tree that often appears in modern photos of the fortress grew only after the building had fallen into ruin.
