A House with a History
The “Craftsman's House” is an old wooden home that once belonged to the cottage-industry shoemaker Vladimir Spiridonovich Shokin. It is of great architectural and cultural importance for Kimry and the Tver region: the outstanding Russian photographer Leonid Shokin and the talented Kimry artist Makary Shokin spent their childhood and youth within these walls, and the great Soviet aircraft designer Andrei Nikolaevich Tupolev visited here. The building is a cultural heritage site. It was built in 1902.
