Historical Background
This building, once named after its owner Albert Daudert and now known as the residential building at 7 Kurortny Prospekt, used to be an apartment building at 19 Königsberger Strasse. Albert worked in business and transportation and offered tax and bookkeeping advice. In 1922 seven people lived in this building: Albert Daudert himself, hotel owner Alfred Wolf, Captain Benjamin Douglas, shoemaker Richard Enkelmann, businesswomen Johanna Hinz and Elise Manus, and Frau Emma Schwandt. On the corner of the ground floor was Robert Schirmacher's shop, later replaced by a private photo studio. Also on the ground floor of Daudert's house was the well-known Elk (Elch) drugstore.
