Historical Background

The mansion of Vladimir Nikolaevich Ogloblin, manager of the Nikolskaya Manufactory mills, was built in the late 19th century in the eclectic style. Ogloblin was a renowned chemist and technologist who knew every nuance of textile production. After the revolution the building became a civic and medical center of the town. In 1917 the first City Duma met here, followed by courses for Red teachers. From the 1920s the mansion served as a tuberculosis clinic with a diet canteen and sanatorium, and later as a children's orthopedic sanatorium.

Its Use Today

Today the building is listed as a historical monument of regional significance. It retains the features of late 19th-century architecture: an expressive facade decorated with stucco and carving.
