Historical Background
The house of the merchant A. G. Potashov was built in the mid-19th century. Only this family mansion has survived to this day. In 1917 the building was nationalized and housed a school and administrative offices. After renovation, a hotel opened in the former merchant's house in 2009. It is a classic mid-19th-century merchant's mansion, with massive walls and arched windows.
