Historical Background

The tower was used as intended until the mid-20th century and then became the Old Vladimir museum. The exhibition tells about life in Vladimir at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, including how townspeople lived and what merchants did.

Architecture

The building is in the Neo-Russian style and looks like a three-story brick house. The museum displays old documents, household items and recreated rooms: a tavern, a prison governor's office and the home of a well-to-do townsman.
