Lotus Lake near the village of Galkino is a well-known landmark and one of the “Seven Wonders of Khabarovsk District.” In summer its surface blooms with pink Komarov's lotuses, relict plants as old as the dinosaurs. For a long time the place was neglected, but now it has been landscaped, with trails, boardwalks, and viewing platforms. The official opening by Governor Dmitry Demeshin took place on July 24, 2026, and the next day the first Lotus Land festival was held.

A Panorama over the Water

The North Viewing Platform is a long boardwalk open to the sun. This is the best place to see the stork that has built its nest on the lake and lives like a hermit amid a deserted forest of water lilies and pink blossoms. On a sunny day the boards warm up, and the view of the lake literally glows. It is a wonderful spot to watch the sunset and capture the colorful scenery in your memory, in your camera, or even on canvas.
