Lotus Lake (Galkino)

Lotus Lake near the village of Galkino is a well-known landmark and one of the “Seven Wonders of Khabarovsk District.” In summer its surface blooms with pink Komarov's lotuses, relict plants as old as the dinosaurs. For a long time the place was neglected, but now it has been landscaped, with trails, boardwalks, and viewing platforms. The official opening by Governor Dmitry Demeshin took place on July 24, 2026, and the next day the first Lotus Land festival was held.

The Starting Line

At the start of the trail are fences with flowerpots. The living flowers instantly create a festive mood and show that this place is treated with love and care. The fences gently mark the edge of the route and tell drivers that cars can't go any farther: it's better to get out and walk on your own, unhurriedly. It's a simple but very heartfelt touch. The flowers are tended by summer residents of the Oktyabr gardening community. They helped plant them and still help today so the flowers don't burn in the sun. Thanks to their care, the pots of living flowers remain a bright, welcoming decoration at the start of the route.
