Lotus Lake near the village of Galkino is a well-known landmark and one of the “Seven Wonders of Khabarovsk District.” In summer its surface blooms with pink Komarov's lotuses, relict plants as old as the dinosaurs. For a long time the place was neglected, but now it has been landscaped, with trails, boardwalks, and viewing platforms. The official opening by Governor Dmitry Demeshin took place on July 24, 2026, and the next day the first Lotus Land festival was held.

The Easiest Way to Reach the Lotuses Without a Car

You don't need a car to get to the lake: suburban bus No. 117 runs from the Khabarovsk bus station and stops at Sady Vodostroy, near the Oktyabr gardening community, where the access road to the lake begins. The bus ride takes about two hours, time you can spend enjoying the suburban scenery outside the window. From the stop it's just a five-minute walk until you see the road sign “Access Road to Lotus Lake.” Following the signs on the poles and taking in the forest scenery around Galkino, you won't notice the time passing. The main thing is to check the schedule of return buses in advance so you don't get stuck after dark.
