“A piece of Heaven on Far Eastern soil”: that is what the sisters call their convent, which stands in a picturesque spot on the shore of Lake Petropavlovskoye. The bell tower offers a breathtaking view of the lake's blue waters, emerald forests, and endless open plains. The idea of founding a monastery in the Amur region goes back to St. Innocent (Veniaminov). It began to take shape under Bishop Makary (Darsky), who invited Hieromonk Alexy (Oskolkov) from Mount Athos. In 1894 Hieromonk Alexy began searching for a site for the monastery, but the chosen place flooded and a new one had to be found. The modern convent was founded in 2001 under Bishop Mark (Tuzhikov). Today it is a flourishing community with churches, workshops, and farm buildings.

A Blessed Corner of Peace

The convent tea house was consecrated on July 2, 2018. The rite of consecration was performed by Father Vasily Morozov. The building stands in the left corner of the convent grounds, right by the gates. Inside, a cozy atmosphere has been created for visitors to rest. The room has everything it needs: a tea bar, refrigerators for dairy products, and wooden tables and chairs. The tea house serves several important purposes. Here pilgrims can rest and enjoy a cup of tea after the service. The room is also used to receive tour groups. And you can request church services here if you didn't manage to do so in the church or the icon shop.

Hospitality Without a Break

The menu includes tea, coffee, and fresh pastries. The tea house is open at hours convenient for visitors and warmly welcomes guests even in winter. This little corner has become a true oasis of calm within the convent, where everyone can find peace and restore their strength of spirit.
