A Modern Take on an Ancient Town
Using multimedia, the museum tells about the town's holy sites, modern-day ascetics, and heavenly patrons. Here you can see a model of Romanov-Borisoglebsk that re-creates its historic buildings and lost churches.
Romanov-Borisoglebsk changed its name to Tutaev only in 1918, in honor of a Red Army soldier killed during the Yaroslavl Uprising. The Volga divides the town into two unequal parts, with the right bank much larger. But that doesn't mean there's nothing to see on the left. Let's stroll past the main sights of the left bank.
