Description
The Volga Embankment is the widest street in Russia. The Volga divides it in half: on the right bank the house numbers are even, and on the left they are odd.
Romanov-Borisoglebsk changed its name to Tutaev only in 1918, in honor of a Red Army soldier killed during the Yaroslavl Uprising. The Volga divides the town into two unequal parts, with the right bank much larger. But that doesn't mean there's nothing to see on the left. Let's stroll past the main sights of the left bank.

Locals call the part of the embankment on the left bank Kustodiev Boulevard. This unofficial name honors the famous artist B. M. Kustodiev. In 1906 Boris Mikhailovich visited Tutaev, then still called Romanov-Borisoglebsk.
