Historical Background
The fire tower was built in the early 20th century for the firefighters. From its height of 25 meters (82 feet), any fire in the town could be spotted. We're in luck: the tower is excellently preserved and is still the tallest building in town. Today you can visit it as a viewing platform, even with the Pushkin Card (a Russian cultural program for young people).
