Description
The museum's 12 display cases trace the evolution of photography, from the first mahogany cameras to digital ones. The exhibition is complemented by numerous old photographs that show the changing technologies and the shifts in style and artistic approach. At its core is a private collection of rare cameras and old photographs gathered by the museum's director, Roman Kakotkin. The museum itself was conceived not as a museum of cameras but as a museum of photography, since it is through photographs that we study the history of the 19th and 20th centuries.
