It's Real
The sperm whale skeleton in Teriberka stands on a platform at the entrance to the Polar Whale restaurant. It's the real skeleton of a whale that beached itself near Teriberka in 2019. The 10–12-meter (33–39-foot) body was found in a bay beyond Batareyny Waterfall. The carcass attracted hungry bears, which fed on it for several months. Unlike the artificial skeleton from “Leviathan,” this one is a genuine natural phenomenon and has not been restored. Its unique appearance underscores the fragility of the ecosystem and recalls Teriberka's close ties to the sea, its fishing past and its cultural heritage.
