Historical Background
The Governor's House is a palace with a six-column Ionic portico, built in the 1820s. It was erected by order of Alexander I as a travel palace, and every Russian emperor from Alexander I to Nicholas II visited it. In 1970 the building was handed over to the Yaroslavl Art Museum.
