Historical Background
The Forest Castle guesthouse was built in the 1900s with half-timbered verandas (wooden beams set crosswise), a typical feature of German architecture. The building housed a large restaurant and a summer café owned by the Pawlowski brothers. In the postwar years it was one of the buildings of the trade-union sanatorium “Svetlogorsk,” and the restaurant premises were taken over by the sanatorium's dining hall.
