The region's main concert hall. Built in 2015, it is shaped like a ship, echoing the smooth lines of the sea. Amber Hall is more than a concert venue: the complex includes a shopping center with a cinema and a restaurant, a business center, and a branch of the Museum of the World Ocean.
Construction had dragged on since 2008, and what finally drove it forward were sanctions from Latvia. In 2014 the annual festival “Singing KiViN” (a musical spin-off of the popular Russian comedy contest KVN) lost its permanent home in Jurmala. The building was finished in record time, and by the summer of 2015 Amber Hall opened its doors. Now “Singing KiViN” is held here every year, along with rock concerts, ballet, plays, children's shows, and more. The auditorium seats up to two thousand people.
