Historical Background
The post and telegraph office was probably built in 1908. In the early 20th century the Singer company rented the ground floor, while the second floor held the post and telegraph station. Remarkably, there has been a post office in this building for more than 100 years. The facade stands out from the surrounding buildings for its bright decor, which mixes elements of Neo-Greek, Art Nouveau and even Byzantine styles. A large stained-glass window on the second floor gives the house special charm.
